It's actually very easy!

 

Fly to Mauritius by plane to Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam (SSR) International Airport. 

Board a yacht and sail to St Brandon.

Mauritius is very well connected to Europe.

Direct Flights:

  • France (Paris CDG/ORY): Air Mauritius, Corsair, Air France

  • UK (London Gatwick): British Airways (seasonal), Air Mauritius

  • Germany (Frankfurt/Munich): Condor (seasonal), Lufthansa

  • Switzerland (Zurich): Edelweiss Air

  • Italy (Milan): Neos (seasonal)

Connections:

  • Via Dubai (Emirates), Doha (Qatar Airways), Istanbul (Turkish Airlines), or Paris (Air France)
     

North America

There are no direct flights from North America to Mauritius.

Best Options (1-stop):

  • Via Europe: Connect through Paris, London, Frankfurt, or Zurich

  • Via the Middle East:

    • Emirates via Dubai

    • Qatar Airways via Doha

    • Turkish Airlines via Istanbul

Cities like New York, Toronto, Montreal, Los Angeles, and Miami are well served with connections to these hubs.

No direct flights. Most efficient connections are through Europe, the Middle East, or Africa.

Best Options:

  • Via Europe: From São Paulo, Buenos Aires, or Santiago to Paris/London/Frankfurt, then onward to Mauritius

  • Via Africa: Some flights via Johannesburg (Airlink/South African Airways + Air Mauritius)

  • Via Middle East: Emirates from São Paulo via Dubai to Mauritius
     

Asia

Well connected depending on the country.

Direct Flights:

  • India (Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore): Air Mauritius, Vistara

  • China (Shanghai/Beijing): Air Mauritius (resuming post-COVID)

  • Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur): AirAsia (seasonal/limited)

Connections:

  • Via Middle East hubs (Emirates, Qatar Airways)

  • Via Singapore (Singapore Airlines + Air Mauritius codeshare)
     

Australia

Direct Flights:

  • Perth: Air Mauritius (shortest route)

  • Melbourne/Sydney: Usually 1-stop via Perth, Dubai, or Singapore

Best Options:

  • Via Dubai: Emirates

  • Via Singapore: Singapore Airlines + Air Mauritius

  • Via Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia Airlines + Air Mauritius
     

New Zealand

No direct flights.

Best Options:

  • Via Australia (Perth/Sydney/Melbourne)

  • Via Asia: Singapore Airlines via Singapore

  • Via Middle East: Emirates via Dubai (from Auckland or Christchurch)

  • Johannesburg: Air Mauritius (daily), South African Airways, FlySafair (newer)

  • Cape Town/Durban: Occasionally seasonal or via Johannesburg

Flight time from Johannesburg is ~4 hours.
